A guy that comes across as very serious at first glance, but is actually just sort of a flake. The human equivalent of a capybara, or a bowl of warm oatmeal. Protagonist of his story.
...This guy is my favorite. No, I don't expect you to understand.

A good chunk of Aldis's characterization was borne from my personal distaste for how video games treat silent protagonists as blank slates to project on. A lack of reaction is a reaction in and of itself, and having "nothing to say" says something about the person who isn't saying it! ...That was the idea I was rolling with. I've always really liked how he turned out. He's a weird protagonist, but I hope people end up liking him in the long run.
(No beef with Raidou btw, I actually think he's a pretty good counter-example!)
